Dozens of reporters turned in access badges and exited the Pentagon on Wednesday rather than agree to government-imposed restrictions on their work, pushing journalists who cover the American military further from the seat of its power. The U.S. government has called the new rules βcommon sense.β
News outlets were nearly unanimous in rejecting new rules imposed by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth that would leave journalists vulnerable to expulsion if they sought to report on information β classified or otherwise β that had not been approved by Hegseth for release.

And I think these kind of high conviction rates that Israel adheres to, in fact, was perhaps one of the highest conviction rates in the world. And actually, the absurd numbers, if we think about it, 99 percent. You know, what that means actually, Palestinians themselves know, if you are in front, if you are standing in front of an Israeli judge, you would never attain justice.
These judges, in fact, the whole entire kind of military court itself is a representation of Israelβs colonial system. The judges are soldiers. The translators are soldiers themselves.β

A legal Chicago resident spoke exclusively with NBC Chicago and Telemundo Chicago after receiving a $130 fine from immigration agents during recent Border Patrol operations in Rogers Park.
The document shows the fine was issued for not carrying identification, something rarely seen in the city.
RubΓ©n Antonio Cruz, 60, who is originally from El Salvador, said he was sitting with a friend near Clark Street and Lunt Avenue last Thursday when immigration agents suddenly pulled up in front of them.
βI was looking at my phone when they got out and asked, βDo you have your papers?ββ he said in Spanish. βI told them yes, but that they were at homeβ¦. that I could show them if they wanted, but they said no.β
