🎥 Israeli attack on a building in Beit Lahiya killed at least 50 Palestinians

There's no respite for people in Gaza either, more than 400 days into Israel's bombardment of the strip. In the northern city of Beit Lahiya, at least 50 Palestinians have been killed in an attack on a multi-storey building, housing forcibly displaced people.
Several remain trapped under rubble as paramedics can't reach the area. Israeli forces have been preventing civil defence crews, medics and aid from entering the north since last month. Palestinians in Beit Lahiya are not only under attack, but are again being forcibly displaced from their homes by the Israeli military.
For more than 40 days, at least 100,000 Palestinians have been forced out in the north. In central Gaza, an Israeli strike killed at least 10 Palestinians in a house in the Bureij refugee camp. Five others were killed in the nearby al Nuseirat camp.

Discussing Israeli attacks on Lebanon, Israeli political commentator Ori Goldberg says the “end game” for Israel is that it wants “permission to basically do whatever it wants”. “It wants an official note written by the United Nations allowing it to exercise exclusive discretion. That is the end game,” he told Al Jazeera. “The end game is not a stable Lebanese government or a stable Lebanese state. It’s providing Israeli citizens – and this for the political purposes of the current government – with the sense that only Israel ‘shapes its destiny’. That’s the end game.”

The Crown’s recent decision to withdraw charges in a widely reported Canadian hijab-pulling case has reignited concerns about systemic bias in the justice system, leaving Muslim women across the country in a state of disbelief.
In justifying the dismissal of charges, Assistant Crown Attorney Moiz Karimjee argued that the victim’s chant, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” could reasonably be understood as a “call for genocide of the Jewish people”.
This weak and dubious justification disregards the chant’s well-known context as a Palestinian freedom slogan, effectively excusing a violent act that has been denounced as a hate crime by the Canadian Muslim Public Affairs Council.
The incident occurred in Ottawa in May, when 74-year-old Lorna Bernbaum approached protester Hayfa Abdelkhaleq, held up a middle finger, and pulled down her hijab - a blatant attack on Abdelkhaleq’s dignity and safety.
