Unmarked graves pepper the little ground available for them in Gaza, the only indication these are cemeteries are breeze blocks, used as head stones, and a serial number.
That number is someone's daughter, mother, brother, friend but their identities remain unknown.
Thousands of Palestinians remain missing, many lost under the rubble but with only one digger and no DNA testing facilities or cold storage the Forensic Team at Al Shifa hospital have no choice but to bury them without a name but with a number which references the little they know about the body.
There is hope one day they can be identified but that hope is a long way off.
Riyad Mansour, the Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, delivered an emotional address before the United Nations Security Council on the ongoing war in Gaza, calling on the international community to take urgent action to end the violence and protect Palestinian civilians. Speaking during the debate on the humanitarian crisis, Mansour said that thousands of innocent people, including women and children, continue to suffer under devastating conditions caused by the conflict.
In his remarks, Mansour emphasized three major points. First, he demanded an immediate ceasefire and an end to military operations in Gaza, arguing that continued attacks would only deepen the humanitarian catastrophe. Second, he called for unrestricted humanitarian access, stressing that food, medical supplies, fuel, and aid workers must be allowed to reach civilians trapped in Gaza without delay. Third, he urged renewed international commitment to a two-state solution, saying that lasting peace can only be achieved through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel.
Mansour also criticized what he described as the failure of the international community to stop the suffering in Gaza and urged the Security Council to uphold international law and human rights obligations.
What would Jesus do? Not what is Israel is doing, that's for sure. Is there any value they haven't violated?
And now Cuba is in the crosshairs. And it's a sovereign nation. If it wants to have dealings with Russia and China that's their business, not the USA's.
And all those Palestinians under the rubble. How can there be talk of a two state solution when one state has been stealing land, and imposing apartheid and genocide on the other. Does Israel have a right to exist? Isn't the right to exist as a state earned? What has Israel earned?
I honour the sacred here, in Palestine and everywhere in the world, and I don't see any in Israel.
Take good care, Najwan. Wishing you peace, rest and enjoyment this weekend.
