π₯ Gaza hospitals near collapse as Israeli blockade halts vital generator parts and oil
Al Jazeera English | Apr 2, 2026
Gaza's Health Ministry is facing a new crisis created by Israel's blockade of the Strip.
There is a growing shortage of industrial oil and spare parts that is threatening to close the few medical units still operating in Gaza.
Many hospital generators have been damaged others are working at the limit of their capacity.
If they fail there will be no power to run Gaza's health system, putting the lives of hundreds of patients at immediate risk.

π₯ Palestinian woman killed by Israeli gunfire in central Gaza Strip
Al Jazeera English | Apr 2, 2026
Israeli gunfire has killed a Palestinian woman east of the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza.
A Palestinian man was also wounded after being shot by the Israeli army.
Overnight, heavy artillery shelling was reported in the east and south.
Suggesting a possible expansion of the military's βyellow lineβ buffer zone.
Israeli attacks have killed at least 700 Palestinians since a US-brokered ceasefire took effect in October.
TELL ME.
(everything)
please..

βWhen you look at all the things facing Palestinians, you could at least until now say that although the death penalty was legally on the Israeli statute book, it was something that wasnβt being used. Whatβs your reaction to the fact thatβs now changed?
Yeah, my reaction is that with this law, after invoking the right to starve and the right to torture the Palestinians, and now Israel claims also and can use the right to hang the Palestinians directly from prison based on a discriminatory legal regime, which further worsens the apartheid features of the Israeli system and crushing completely any resemblance of new process.
So can this be challenged in Israeli law and in international law? And how do you do that?
From an international law point of view, there is no question or question that this law is unlawful. First and foremost, because it continues to apply to the Occupied Palestinian Territory. International Court of Justice has already declared the occupation unlawful.
βSo Israel has no jurisdiction, no rights whatsoever to continue to legislate. And as I said, it continues the pursuit of discrimination against the Palestinians. So it could be challenged by bringing once again the Israeli leaders, Israeli, those who are the architects of this law before the International Criminal Court, or using universal jurisdiction against them, as Iβve already recommended in my last report after documenting two years of torture used against the Palestinians detained after October 2023.
But the problem is, is it not, already the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court have proceedings. Itβs the world community. Itβs all the countries of the world.
Theyβre not backing the International Justice with regard to Israel.β
βIsrael is what we call in the United Nations and international law, de facto abolitionist state. It has not used the death penalty for 60 years. I donβt think people have even been sentenced to death, but certainly it hasnβt been carried out for 60 years.
Because there were only two executions in the history of Israel. So this is a very dramatic development if they, not only if the legislation survives the Supreme Court, but also if itβs implemented. Itβs an extremely rare occurrence for a state that has stopped using the death penalty to revert to the practice of the death penalty.
There are only a handful of countries where this has happened. And now, Israel joins that rather unhappy and miserable club.
Ofer, you are a member of the body that voted for this, the Knesset. Sixty-two law members to 48. And champagne corks being popped while it happened.
Are you ashamed of this vote?
Ashamed is an understatement. Itβs much more than being ashamed. But thatβs not the first time that Iβve been ashamed of this specific parliament, the 25th Knesset.
But no doubt that this is the peak of the malicious behavior of this specific Knesset and coalition. Thatβs disgusting, to say the least. And I actually entitled this law not as a death penalty law, but as a genocide law.
And if you allow me, I can explain logically why it should be regarded as a law that actually enables, not to say requires, genocide.
Why should it be called the genocide law?
Well, apart from the law as such itself, you know, that we should analyze and refer to, and I believe we will do that, we have to see the specific context, the context of the political discourse, mainly within the coalition, but also in the public, in the society at large. Two things should be observed. First, that there is a common parlance within the public, and especially within the coalition discourse, that thereβs nothing such as Jewish terrorism.
If there is nothing like Jewish terrorism, that also means or entails logically, that there arenβt Jewish terrorists. And if there arenβt Jewish terrorists, that means that this law doesnβt appeal and apply, this law doesnβt apply to Jews by definition. On the other hand, the very same who argue that thereβs nothing such as Jewish terrorism, argue that all Palestinians are terrorists.β

π₯ Pastorβs White House prayer claims Iranians seek death of all Jews | AJ #shorts
Al Jazeera English | Apr 2, 2026
Evangelical pastor Franklin Graham referenced Iran and Jewish communities during a White House prayer, including a claim that Iranians seek the destruction of Jews worldwide. He also said Trump had been chosen by God to lead the war on Iran. The prayer drew criticism from online commentators.

One in every five children in Lebanon has been forced to flee their home in just one month as conflict in Lebanon and the Middle East and region triggers a mass wave of displacement, Save the Childrenβs Chief Executive Officer Inger Ashing said today.
During a visit to Beirut on Thursday, Ms Ashing met some displaced children and families and heard how the situation was rapidly reaching a breaking point with families forced to leave everything behind and many relying wholly on humanitarian aid after years of crisis.
More than 1.2 million people - a fifth of the population - have been displaced in Lebanon since 2 March due to Israeli airstrikes and forced displacement orders including 350,000 children. More than 1,000 people have been killed, including more than 120 children with a further 380 or more children injured.
Ms Ashing said children were bearing the brunt of the crisis, abruptly losing access to the safety of their homes, their schools, their friends and access to healthcare and other essential services. Many are frightened and facing severe emotional distress.
βNo child should have to run for their life in the middle of the night. Yet in Lebanon today, itβs happening to family after family - children fleeing, terrified,β said Ms Ashing.
βLebanonβs children are being pushed past their limits. They are exhausted, traumatised, and losing the very foundations of childhood. The world cannot look away - we need action, and we need it now.β
Across Lebanon, people - many displaced for the second time in two years - are now staying with friends and relatives, while some have no choice but to sleep on the streets or are crowding into some of about 660 collective shelters, including about 470 schools turned into temporary housing.

Israel has to be stopped, hopefully before any hangings take place and before it carries on its genocide in Lebanon and Iran.
I couldn't listen to Trump's speech, Najwan. He's a madman -- a corrupt and thuggish lunatic. Even short clips of him sicken me. Here's a short interview with Jeffrey Sachs that expresses well how I feel about Trump, Netanyahu and all the damn support they're receiving from kindred evil spirits in the western world. https://rachelblevins.substack.com/p/iran-war-trump-jeffrey-sachs?publication_id=397465&post_id=192997277&r=aex03&triedRedirect=true&utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email
Take good care, Najwan, my friend.
