A mother in Gaza,
cried so hard today,
her words in final call,
“I wish I was with you”
“I wish I was killed next to you”
Today is Sunday, November 3. One day remains until the US presidential election. It is day 394 of the war in Gaza, where more than 43,259 Palestinians have been killed.
On Monday, Israel's parliament, the Knesset, voted to ban the United Nations Relief Works Agency, or UNRWA, which provides services to millions of Palestinians in Occupied Palestinian Territory and to refugees across the region. This is UNRWA spokesman Tamara Arafai, speaking to Al Jazeera after the vote.
If these laws are implemented, the Knesset bills, then they're likely to prevent UNRWA from working in the entirety of the Occupied Palestinian Territory in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and in Gaza. What effectively this means is that most likely the international staff will no longer have visas to go into Israel or the OPT. No work permits will be given to our Palestinian colleagues.
Some other Palestinian news today..
Israeli forces dropped a stun grenade on a polio vaccination centre in Gaza City, wounding at least four children, despite agreeing to a humanitarian pause for a long-delayed inoculation campaign, according to the WHO. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the health centre was “in an area where a humanitarian pause was agreed to allow vaccination to proceed”. Israel has denied carrying out the attack.

🎥 Israel’s war on Gaza & Lebanon will have an 'impact for generations': Daniel Levy
Al Jazeera English | Nov 2, 2024
Israeli forces are again targeting residential areas in northern Gaza, as they step up their month-long seige. Wounded Palestinians were taken to hospital, after early-morning strikes in Jabalia and Beit Lahiya. Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary has the latest from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, Palestine. Daniel Levy, president of the US/Middle East Project, says Israel’s war on Gaza and Lebanon will have an “impact for generations”.

🎥 Karim Golding on the cruelty of American power in Palestine
TRT World | Nov 2, 2024
Drawing from his challenging lived experience, both inside and outside American prisons, social justice activist Karim Golding draws key parallels between the United States’ mistreatment of marginalized groups within its own borders and Palestinians abroad.
In this interview with TRT World, Golding conveys the importance of caring for others “different” from oneself and working with them to end the injustice they experience. He alludes that being effective here involves knowing who is a true ally, such as against the United States’ and Israel’s combined oppression against Palestine, and who merely appears to be.
Karim Golding, a Jamaican immigrant, faced a life-altering experience in the US when wrongfully arrested in 2006 during the "War on Drugs" as a target of the “Hip-Hop Police.” After years of incarceration, Karim obtained a certificate in paralegal studies, which helped him to get some convictions vacated, and his 30-year conviction was changed to time served.

In local news, I attended a protest in Downtown Dallas yesterday afternoon hosted by the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), specific chapter: PYM Dallas. Others involved: Party for Socialism and Liberation DFW | Texas for Palestine | Tarrant solidarity for Palestine.
The event coincided with the 107th anniversary of the “Balfour Declaration” and many across the US mobilized under the banner of #NoVotesforGenocide.
My usual partner in crime Reem was out of town so I attended solo (don’t worry Reem-o, you have not been replaced!). I was however too engrossed in conversation to document realtime, but one observation I distinctly made… the skewed police presence, ill-proportioned to crowd in sight, but how diversified they were in flight… (I give them that much 🫡)
We had cops in cop cars!

The amazing Mr. Pappé! The last ~6 minutes of thoughts and words reminds my heart to keep hope strong (Shukran for sharing clip yesterday)
🎥 The birth of Israel and the death of Zionism | Ilan Pappé | The Big Picture
Middle East Eye | Nov 1, 2024
Can Zionism survive the current war in Gaza? Israeli historian Ilan Pappé believes it can’t. In fact, he argues that the liberation of Palestine is an inevitability.
Pappé is the author of 24 books on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and most recently published two books: ‘Lobbying for Zionism on Both Sides of the Atlantic’ and ‘A Very Short History of the Israel-Palestine Conflict’.
This week on The Big Picture Podcast, we sit down with Ilan Pappé to talk about where the Zionist project originates, why it embraced settler colonialism and why he believes it will ultimately fail to achieve its goals.
The banning of UNRWA truly is such a disheartening move by Israel, but not at all a surprising one. The lengths they’ve gone to in an effort to destroy any sense of hope for Palestinians is absolutely astonishing. But they forget that the resilience embedded in Palestine goes deeper than any sick tactic their twisted Israeli imaginations can muster. 💪🏽🇵🇸
Thank you for sharing this information, Najwan! And thank you for using your voice to continue bringing light to such a dark situation. 🙏🏽💚
Thanks again for speaking out, Najwan. This genocide has got to stop.
I'm working on a post right now, and I hope it's helpful.
I hope you have a chance to relax.
