The NATO summit recently happened in Ankara, was a very good example of that, a very good proof of that. And there were several other, like what happened in Davos, for example. A new world order is in place.

It’s being built at the moment. And Gaza, I think, was the experiment to see if this new world order can be just very freely built. And I think a good part of humanity said no, but they were not listened to.

This is also why I keep saying we lost our faith in democracy. Not only because of neoliberalism, but because of all the national and international institutions that were put there to defend human dignity failed us. And that failure began when Iraq was invaded.

I remember not a war coalition in 2001-3. The entire world was on streets. We did not want war.

I was one of the spokespersons in Turkey. The world did not want war, but the war still happened. And we see the next act in Gaza.

The entire world was again on streets. They wanted to stop a genocide, but no, the leaders, the institutions did not listen or could not act upon that demand. So this is how we lose faith in democracy.

What was more disgusting than genocide, if there can be anything, was Jared Kushner’s PowerPoint presentation in Davos. He actually told us why this Gaza genocide is happening, because they just want to build a resort there. And that indiscrepancy between the human demands of the global community and the psychopathic blindness of this New World Order, I think the experiment was this.

Can we do this? Can we just make people as psychopaths as we are? So far, we are not.

But, yeah, it is disheartening, to say the least, what’s happening. And Gaza still goes on. And many people, perhaps too many people, feel relief after the word, you know, there was some sort of peace talk about Gaza.

And I think many people, you know, took shelter there and they didn’t, they don’t want to talk about Gaza anymore. But still, you know, as I told him together, you know, we have to have faith. It’s a moral stance to have faith in humans.

And I choose to believe in people against this system. Because I think this is where we are going. We will have to defend the basic human moral.

Not only politics, democracy, democratic institutions, but basic human morals, actually. Moral values, which is more terrifying than anything.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday convened officials from more than 60 countries to raise alarm over what the State Department is warning is a resurgence of far-left political violence globally.

Rubio called for an “international response” to the issue at the summit, which marks an expansion of President Trump’s focus on treating left-wing political violence as the priority terrorist threat facing the U.S. Civil rights group argue it’s a tactic to silence domestic opposition.

Rubio attacked those criticisms as a “partisan fiction” and said that such “ideological prejudice” has left a blind spot in global counterterrorism efforts. In November, the administration designated four leftist groups in Europe as foreign terrorist organizations and offered a $10 million reward for information on their financing.

Rubio said Thursday more designations are forthcoming.

“This is an international conference because we are facing an international — we are facing a transnational threat,” he said. “These are not distinct and isolated cells; they are interconnected networks.”

The Washington Post reported last week that anonymous U.S. officials raised concern that the administration was looking to unlock powerful counterterrorism tools to target U.S. activists they view as left-wing extremists.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has killed more than 1,000 Palestinians in the West Bank. More than 230 of them are children. Attacks by settlers on rural Palestinian communities have increased, destroying property and capturing livestock, driving families from their homes. At the same time, the Israeli military has launched a large-scale assault on the densely populated Jenin refugee camp.

This film provides a comprehensive picture of the tactics the Israeli government uses to support the settlers and then, through infrastructure and building programmes, annex Palestinian land.
Western governments claim to oppose Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and uphold international law. However, undercover reporters from Al Jazeera expose how donors based in some Western countries fund the expansion of illegal settlements.

Al Jazeera journalists secretly film meetings with pro-settler organisations in Israel, claiming to be donors based in the UK looking to make large contributions to their projects. They’re told how funds can be paid as tax-deductible donations to charities in the UK and Canada who then pay the money on to their organisations. It is unlawful for charities in the UK and Canada to use donations to support the illegal settlement of the West Bank.

The Israeli organisations tell our undercover reporters how donations can be used to campaign for the demolition of Palestinian homes and provide military-grade security equipment such as drones and night vision cameras to settlers. We are also told that funds can be used to buy guns for settlers in occupied East Jerusalem and equipment for soldiers serving in the Israeli army.

The Israeli organisations are aware that their activities are considered unlawful in Canada and the UK and suggest ways to disguise the intended purpose of the donations, routing the funds through affiliated third parties and, in some cases, misreporting the true nature of their spending.

Charities in the UK and Canada are required to do extensive due diligence on how funds paid overseas are spent and to ensure they comply with the law. Al Jazeera’s evidence points to serious failings in this process.

A six-year-old Palestinian boy was injured on Wednesday after being hit by a car driven by an Israeli settler in the southern West Bank city of Hebron, according to his father.

Mukhlis Ammar Al Slaimeh, the father of six-year-old Mukhlis Al Slaimeh, said the settler deliberately drove into his son while he was playing with other children near the Israeli military Checkpoint 160 before fleeing the scene.

He said the boy suffered bruising to his face and was taken to hospital, where he is undergoing medical examinations to assess his condition.

Checkpoint 160 is located at the entrance to the Al Slaimeh neighbourhood in Hebron’s Old City and separates several residential areas from the rest of the city.

Residents of those neighbourhoods are required to pass through the checkpoint and undergo security checks and prior registration, causing daily obstacles to their movement.

The occupied West Bank has seen a sustained escalation since October 2023, with Israeli military raids and arrests taking place alongside attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians and their property.
