The western world is so far away from anything resembling democracy these days. When it's legal for AIPAC, the fossil fuel industry and who knows else to bribe politicians, policies don't reflect the will of the people.
When the genocide continues despite the protests, the protesters silenced, this is not democracy.
I feel angry over war criminals hunting and hurting our most vulnerable in the ways they have. I cannot stand that level of cowardice and injustice Diana. I just want us to mean what we say, to do the right thing, the courageous thing, the moral thing. Every time.

Pardon me, I just got through PUKING after reading the U.S. State Department's official press release commemorating International Day of Democracy 2024: "The United States will continue to support free and fair elections, to fight corruption, to protect human rights, and to promote inclusive governance. We call on all governments to join us in these efforts and commend the reformers working tirelessly around the globe to advance democratic progress." Wait, I think I have to throw up again! Such lying, such hypocrisy, has become the norm, unfortunately. The videos were informative but infuriating as usual, Najwan, but John Oliver's show on AI was enlightening and fascinating. And your poetry, as always, was excellent.
