When genocide becomes entertainment -- violence porn -- we're so out of whack.
There's such a disconnect between ordinary people who can't bear this ongoing slaughter and our ruling class that thinks that's just the way things have always been.
Just the helplessness of seeing this horror every day and our politicians being unwilling to listen to us, as they keep sending arms and money to Israel is so painful.
Diana, what we can do is to bear witness, and to share our sorrow and solidarity. Giving the murdered people names and ages reminds everyone that these are human beings who had their lives stolen. The more that know, the less opportunity there is for evil regimes to thrive.
Each word and line of your penetrating poetry continues to resonate, dear Najwan. So painful, but masterful. The list of the martyrs whom you honor is just the tip of an iceberg of tragedy, and there are so many that we will never be able to acknowledge individually. But we know that their lives will ultimately not be lost in vain. International volunteers face a genocidal military, free speech of protestors and defenders of justice is under threat everywhere, and the killing continues. "The theatre of cruelty, is in full swing," - but somehow, these killers will not prevail. Thank you for the courageous work that you do.
I really enjoyed the beautiful "Hard Time," by Seinabo Sey. It somehow captured my mood just perfectly.........
The song resonated with me too. Am glad you enjoyed it sweet Leon. And I agree. This small list of activists is just one I knew of to share. I wish we could honor every soul lost to that evilness. Their face, their name, their life story. Their love and life transcends us, and this hateful realm nowβ¦
Najwan, thanks for naming and describing some of the horrible injuries suffered by protesters at the hands of the occupier βarmyβ. As I have said on many occasions, the only good thing to come out of this nearly year-long horror movie is that people all over the world see the evil of the occupiers, and appreciate the justice of the Palestinian cause. Al-Jazeera describing sanctions for pro-Palestine speech as being akin to βthe new McCarthyismβ is spot-on. Thanks very much for sharing this. π€π½π€π½π€π½that these deaths will be the amongst the last committed by the occupier army. I always thought that the end of the zionist entity would be messy and bloody. I had given up on the possibility of seeing the entity collapse in my lifetime. Therefore, Iβm very glad that the Zionists have brought about their own downfall because of their greed and hubris. They canβt play the victim any longer: that old story wonβt wash any more.
Thanks for posting, Najwan.

I wish I knew how to stop it.
I wish I did too Diana. They puppeteer the rest of us to death and oblivion.

I look forward to that thought Jacqueline. βthese deaths will be amongst the last committed by the occupier armyβ
And yes. Youβre so right. Their greed and ego, their very own downfall leap from the cliff they crafted, built on human bone and flesh.
